1.- INTRODUCTION
The Pontificia
Universidad Católica del Perú,
through its Institute for Radio Astronomy, is conducting a satellite project
for the development of small satellite for academic and research
purposes. After about two years work, the project is near completion and
getting ready for integration into it´s launch
platform to be inserted into a low earth orbit (LEO) at about 700 km altitude. The
present paper constitutes a summary of the project.
2.- PARTICIPANTS

contributed to the project, from different areas of knowledge and

3.- SATELLITE SPECIFICATIONS
The PUCP-SAT-1 project consists of two
satellites, launched as one. The second, smaller satellite will be
deployed in orbit from the larger PUCP-SAT-1; a summary of parameters is
given in table 1.
